Food banks transition to helping neighbors after the flood

Although Hurricane Irene blew through the Northeast at the beginning of September, the demands on local food banks and other aid agencies continues to be higher than normal. "We are now transitioning our suppport to help families as they return home and our member agency network as they recover and meet local needs," noted Rich Bank, Food Bank Director of CEO/Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, another organization which received a donation to help with their efforts.'s support of Southern Tier and Weinberg was made possible by The Hunger Site's Gifts That Give More [tm] program.
